Full Load Sea Freight
 

We offer full load reefer container services world wide, for frozen chilled and temperature controlled cargo. Much of the Company's early growth ran parallel with the success of British Beef exports. Today meat, whether pork, poultry, beef or lamb still forms an important part of our export and cross trade business.
We ship dairy products such as cheese and butter, confectionery is a growing market for us.

Frozen and fresh fish, vegetables, ready meals and prepared meats all add to our portfolio of food stuff commodities. Much of these exports are traded under CAP conditions and we appreciate the vagaries involved here.
Of non food items, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, paints and resins all have their specific transportation requirements - many needing to be protected from the cold and kept warm during transport - and we ship increasing amounts of these types of products.We also ship many other dry commodities in non active reefers to assist in the positioning of equipment, often at appreciable dry container savings.

 

Air Freight
 

To compliment our groupage services, and as an entity in its own right, we offer air freight services world wide for those more urgent consignments, or a sample shipment. Much of this operation centres around our packing operation at our cold store in Braintree, Essex.

On occasion the speed of air freight and a suitably cool stow provide a sufficient environment for the safe transportation of some less sensitive goods, but when greater protection is needed we can supply a range of suitable transport mediums. These include polystyrene or tri-wall cartons, often specifically built to order, insulated or actual refrigerated containers, dry ice and gel packs.
Transport to the airport, or indeed to the cold store often presents it's own problems and to facilitate this operation we have access to several specialised vehicles. Part of our service includes the early and automatic notify to your customer that the shipment is on its way - very important to allow the prompt and safe clearance and subsequent collection or delivery. All air freight shipments handled at Braintree are packed and despatched under our supervision and our quote will automatically include cargo insurance, unless instructed otherwise. Refrigerated Groupage Services
 

Since the Company's formation in 1990 establishing regular and reliable refrigerated transportation services for consignments not warranting the expense of a whole container was very much a priority. With differing carriage requirements, for different products the task of establishing such services was not easy.

We are proud however that over the years we have opened up several routes for frozen, chilled and temperature controlled cargo, and when combined with our reefer air freight services, our full load reefer services and our access to reefer trucks and reefer charters we like to feel we are able to offer a solution for any reefer enquiry. Principle areas for our reefer consolidation services are most of the EU, by truck, World Wide by air, and by reefer container we offer regular services to several destinations in the Far East, The Middle East and Mediterranean.

Ad-Hoc or subject to inducement we offer services to many more areas around the World and continue to welcome enquiries from new or would-be shippers.

We consolidate our deep sea groupage, usually, at two UK Cold Stores. One in Braintree Essex, the other at the Port of Felixstowe. We also utilise other Ports Cold Stores for specific requirements. For some shipments it may be necessary for us to co-load with our European Partners, and on these occasions we would send a vehicle to your door to collect. Our services have over the years assisted our clients in opening up new markets. So if you have been asked to supply a quantity not justifying the expense of a full load container, but have been unable to find a suitable transport solution, please do contact us. Ice Cream to Europe
 
Shipping Ice cream, whether by sea, by reefer truck or by air presents its own unique sets of challenges. Shipping groupage quantities of Ice Cream adds another set of transportation criteria. For this reason we are looking to establish Groupage Services, by truck and by sea specifically tailored to Ice Cream transportation.

This means:

Carriage temperatures of -26 degrees Celsius

Constant refrigeration.

Minimum, (preferably no) transhipment.

By Sea we would usually receive at our appointed cold store and load container for delivery overseas into an appointed receiving cold store. By truck to European destinations, however, this operation is not really practicable nor cost effective and the best way to ensure the minimal disruption to the cold chain, is to combine Ice Cream, only with Ice Cream and to use just one vehicle on a door to door basis. .

Initial indications (June 2003) suggest that obtaining sufficient quantities of Ice Cream, destined roughly for the same European areas might be difficult, but on going enquiries would lead us to believe that if the service was available, then this in itself would encourage would be exporters.

Currently we are looking at deliveries to France, Spain, Portugal and Italy, but would welcome your enquiries to all destinations
 

 

Procurement of Export Documents

As part of our service to exporters we can organise most export documentation.

The following items may be of specific interest to our overseas clients who may not be used to dealing with the UK authorities :
 
NES Customs Procedures
As you would expect we are geared up, on line, with Customs and can, if required organise UK Customs clearance on our clients behalf.
 
Export Health Certificates
We can procure these on behalf of customers. We have access to a network of Vetenary Officers and can if required arrange their appointments at loading stores.
 
Certificates Of Origin
Often required for some destinations. We can organise or raise on your behalf and if need be arrange for them to legalised.
 
Marine Insurance
Our marine insurance policy has been built up of many years. From sellers risk to All Risk and more let us quote you. Premiums depend upon cover required and destination of goods but start from as little as 0.15%.
 
We pride ourselves on the service we try to deliver to our Customers. Many of our regular customers would have these services incorporated automatically into their overall package, but we do offer many of those ancilliary services in isolation.

Marine Insurance

Over many years and many containers we have learned a great deal about the vagaries of Marine Insurance. We believe the existing policy we have already offers a wider cover than the norm and we are constantly striving to improve it.

Rates start at just 0.15% for basic cover and we can offer "all risks" at very competitive prices. The policy also offers optional extensions including a degree of rejection cover and we would welcome your enquiries, or indeed stories of why claims were turned down or indeed paid.

 

Container Sales

Our connections within the industry often allow us to source 2nd hand reefer containers. These are usually suitable for shipping as well as storage. We always aim to provide a manufacturers operating manual, to supply them fully serviced and PTI’d and with a warranty.

We can also, subject to order, produce self sustaining diesel/electric units for shipping and storage where external power sources are either unreliable or non existent. Prices obviously depend upon age and condition of containers but we would be very pleased to discuss any specific requirements.
